4x50 Snow Medley Relay Goes Viral

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech swimming and diving posted a video on Twitter on Saturday (Jan. 7) that took social media outlets by storm over the weekend.

The video (which can be seen below) has been retweeted, reposted and shared on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, as well as on a number of national media platforms.

On Facebook, the video has received over 7.5 million views to date via the Georgia Tech and the Georgia Tech Swimming & Diving accounts and has been shared over 87,000 times including by various outlets such as Team USA, ESPN’s SportsCenter, The Weather Channel, Swimming World, SwimSwam and BuzzFeed.

The video and the original post on Twitter has also been retweeted almost 2,100 times and has received 4,900 likes in just 48 hours, while on Instagram it has been viewed a total of over 31,000 times combined on the @GeorgiaTech, @GTathletics and @GTSwimDive pages.

It was also posted on local media-outlet websites such as the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Macon Telegraph, WSB-TV 2 Atlanta, Fox5 Atlanta and 11 Alive, as well as national websites such as Good Morning America, ABC News, CNN, USA Today, The Washington Post, Yahoo, AccuWeather, The Weather Channel, Swimming World Magazine, The CW33, ESPN, Fox Sports and SBNation, as well as various other media outlets spanning from The Miami Herald in Florida to The Tri-City Herald in Washington.

A number of interview request have been coming in from across the nation for Aidan Pastel, Matt Casillas, Colt Williamson and Brad Oberg, the participants in the 4×50 snow medley relay video.
