2004 Football Schedule Announced

Home games with new Atlantic Coast Conference members Miami and Virginia Tech highlight Georgia Tech’s 2004 football schedule, announced Monday by the ACC.

Virginia Tech visits Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field for a nationally-televised game on Thursday, Oct. 28, marking Tech’s 17th ESPN Thursday night exposure since 1991. Miami plays in Atlanta on Oct. 2.

Georgia Tech also hosts ACC foes Virginia (Nov. 20) and Duke (Oct. 16) in 2004, while visiting Clemson (Sept. 11), North Carolina (Sept. 18), Maryland (Oct. 9) and NC State (Nov. 6).

Tech opens the 2004 season on Saturday, Sept. 4 against Samford at Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field. Other non-conference games include a home date with Connecticut (Nov. 13) and the traditional season-ending rivalry game with Georgia, which is slated for Saturday, Nov. 27 in Athens.

Georgia Tech’s 2004 schedule features seven of 11 games against teams that participated in bowl games in 2003.

No game times have been established.
