Greensboro, NC – Georgia Tech’s Lyndsay Shosho was selected as the ACC Women’s Tennis Performer of the Week after posting a combined 4-0 record in singles and doubles action over the weekend.
Shosho, ranked 62nd in the nation, downed a pair of ranked opponents this past week at the No. 1 singles flight. She started the week defeating the fourth-ranked singles player in the nation, Agata Cioroch of Georgia in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. Shosho then teamed with Maria Nieto to defeat the doubles tandem of Schonfeldova/Subbotina, 8-5 to clinch the doubles point for the Yellow Jackets.
On Sunday, the sophomore from East Amherst, New York picked up her second straight win over a ranked opponent at the top singles spot. Shosho defeated Ohio State’s Lindsay Williams, ranked 57th in the nation, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (5). She once again teamed with Nieto to clinch the doubles point against the Buckeyes and lead Georgia Tech to the 7-0 victory.
Georgia Tech is back in action this weekend as they face Vanderbilt and Furman at home on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
