Tech's Catherine Gunn Named ACC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

ATLANTA — Georgia Tech rookie Catherine Gunn was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this year, after leading the Yellow Jackets to a pair of dual-match wins and recording a perfect 2-0 record in singles play last week.

In Georgia Tech’s 4-3 win over 44th-ranked San Diego State last Monday, Gunn won her match at No. 3 singles over Katja Korrento in straight sets by scores of 6-3, 6-0. She followed that with a victory over Furman’s Mary Kovarik at No. 2 singles, also in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0. Gunn’s win helped lead the 22nd-ranked Yellow Jackets to a 5-2 win over No. 75 Furman.

On the year, Gunn leads Tech with a perfect 11-0 dual-match singles record and on the year, her 18-4 mark is tops on the team.
