JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Led by a pair of victories from sophomore Anna Saum, the Georgia Tech women’s swimming and diving team defeated North Florida, 142-93, Friday at the UNF Aquatic Center, improving to 2-0 on the young season.

Saum was victorious in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100 back. She led a group of nine different Yellow Jackets that posted wins over the Lady Ospreys. Freshman diver Laurissa Prystaj also recorded a pair of victories, placing first on the one-meter board and recording the highest point total in the three-meter event.

For the second time in as many meets, the Jackets got solid contributions from their freshman class. In addition to Prystaj, newcomers Meghan DeVinney (100 fly), Mimi Murad (500 free) and Laura Heiser (100 breast) posted individual victories.

Other individual wins came from sophomores Ann Battle (1000 free), Moeko Wallis (200 free), Michelle Maguire (200 IM) and Jaclyn Keys (100 free).

Tech opened the meet with a win in the 400 medley relay and did not look back. Sophomores Katie Duffy, Ashley Skala, Jill Vukmanic and Keys brought home the win and set the tone for the rest of the meet.

The Jackets return to action Saturday, as both the men’s and women’s teams open their Atlantic Coast Conference schedule at Florida State at 2 p.m.
