After leading the marketing efforts at three different NCAA Division I programs over the past decade, Reggie McIntyre joined Georgia Tech athletics’ staff as assistant athletics director for marketing and fan experience in May 2023.
McIntyre came to The Flats after having spent the previous two years at Louisiana Tech, where he began as assistant athletics director for brand engagement in July 2021 before being promoted to associate A.D. for external relations in February 2022. At Louisiana Tech, he led the efforts to increase revenue by 50% for football, 60% for men’s basketball, 40% for women’s basketball, 44% for baseball and a whopping 136% for softball, all while operating with a staff at just 60% capacity. He also served on the athletics director’s executive staff, led the Bulldogs’ name, image and likeness program (THRIVE) and chaired the department’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Prior to his time at Louisiana Tech, McIntyre spent five years at Wichita State (2016-21), where he began as an assistant director for marketing, game operations and community engagement, before earning two promotions – to director of fan engagement in 2017, then to director of marketing and fan engagement in 2018.
McIntyre’s first stint as a director came at Holy Cross, where he served as director of marketing and special events from 2014-16. At Holy Cross, he oversaw a 14% increase in men’s basketball revenue and a 29% increase in men’s ice hockey revenue.
Prior to directing the marketing operations at Holy Cross, Wichita State and Louisiana Tech, McIntyre began his professional career at Louisville, first as a graduate assistant (2012-13), then as a marketing associate (2014).
McIntyre is an active member and leader within the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA), having served as a mentor in NACMA’s mentorship program and a member of the organization’s brand management and revenue generation committees. He has held leadership roles as a member of the Louisville Sport Administration Advisory Board, the Wichita State President’s Diversity Council and Diversity and Inclusion Council and the Louisiana Tech Leadership Institute.
He has also coordinated marketing efforts at a number of high-profile events, including the NCAA men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, volleyball and ice hockey championships, as well as the 2019 The Basketball Tournament (TBT). He also coordinated entertainment at the 2013 Kentucky Derby “Downs After Dark” event.
A Wilmington, N.C. native, McIntyre holds degrees from NC State (2011 – B.S., sport management) and Louisville (2013 – M.S., sport administration). As an undergraduate at NC State, he served as a student marketing assistant, working with the Wolfpack’s wrestling, women’s basketball and men’s and women’s soccer programs, and was named the College of Natural Resource’s Community Service Award winner in 2011.
