As a Sophomore (2018): Made six starts for the Jackets and 16 appearances in the circle … Pitched a complete game shutout against Boston College (March 5) to snap a nine-game losing streak … Improved her ERA from 5.03 in her freshman campaign to 3.02 in her sophomore … Came away with two saves on the season, one at Campbell (Feb. 23) and her second at Duke (April 8) to seal the series win.
As a Freshman (2017): Made 27 appearances in the circle, including 13 starts … Compiled a 3-10 record and pitched 108.1 innings with 68 strike outs … Struck out a season-high eight batters against North Dakota State (March 25) … Earned her first save against Iowa (Feb. 19), pitching 2.0 innings and limiting the Hawkeyes to a hit with three strike outs and no walks.
High School: Brooke Barfield is a four-year letterwinner for head coach Al Butler, and was ranked No. 22 on FloSoftball’s Hot 100 List in 2016 … Barfield is a four-year captain for the Redskins, who finished the 2015 fall season with a record of 29-12 and third-place at the state championship … Barfield is a four-time first-team all-region selection, and a three-time first-team Coastal Empire Best of Preps selection … After the 2015 season, Barfield was named Region 2AA Pitcher of the Year … Went 18-5 in the pitching circle, posting an ERA of 1.18, and struck out 193 batters in 160 1/3 innings in her senior season … At the plate, she had a .444 batting average with a .492 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage with 48 hits, 12 doubles, three triples, a pair of home runs, 25 runs scored and 34 RBIs to earn Savannah Morning News player of the year honors as a senior in 2015 … Four-year Honor Roll member … Participated in the National Honors Society as a senior … Top 10 in Class of 2016 at Bryan County HS.
