Georgia Tech’s Attallah Smith (track and field), Miles Kelly (men’s basketball) and Shardonay Blueford (compliance) joined 48 student-athletes and administrators from the Atlantic Coast Conference over the weekend on an immersive and transformational experience in the area of social justice. The group traveled to Selma and Montgomery, Ala., July 15-17, to visit key sites of the civil rights movement. The trip was highlighted by a march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, while also visiting the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre, First Baptist Church and Equal Justice Initiative Museum. The Yellow Jackets had opportunities to hear from guest speakers during the trip, while engaging with fellow ACC members.
