Former two-time NCAA Divison II all-American and Carolina Panther Edmund Kugbila joined Georgia Tech’s staff as an offensive analyst in 2023.
Kugbila came to The Flats from Marshall, where served as a graduate assistant in 2022, working directly with the Thundering Herd’s offensive line and helping the Herd win the 2022 Myrtle Beach Bowl. His stint at Marshall followed one season as an offensive quality control assistant at Eastern Kentucky in 2021.
Prior to moving into the college game, Kugbila was a high school coach in metro Atlanta, first as offensive line coach at his alma mater, Central Gwinnett H.S. in 2019, then in the same role at Collins Hill H.S. in 2020. He was named Central Gwinnett’s Tally Johnson Assistant Coach of the Year in 2019.
Kugbila was a standout offensive lineman at Valdosta State, where he was a two-time first-team all-American and all-Gulf South Conference selection and helped lead the Blazers to the 2012 Division II national championship.
He was selected in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, but suffered numerous injuries and saw his playing career come to a close after just two seasons.
Kugbila earned a B.S. in organizational leadership from Valdosta State in 2017 and was inducted to the school’s athletics hall of fame in 2021.
