Simit Shah, a member of Georgia Tech’s athletics staff since 2012, serves as Tech’s executive associate athletics director for administration. In his role, he oversees various external initiatives for the athletics department and serves as the administrator for men’s and women’s tennis, as well as the secondary administrator for football and men’s basketball.
Shah was promoted to his current position in 2024, after having served as associate A.D./administrations since 2023. Previously, he served as Georgia Tech’s assistant athletics director for brand and ideation from 2017-19 and assistant athletics director for special projects from 2019-22. Prior to being promoted to assistant A.D., he spent five years (2012-17) as a digital consultant for Georgia Tech athletics.
Before joining Tech’s athletics staff, Shah spent 13 years at CNN/Turner, serving as the director of web operations and development for CNN.com. In that role, he contributed to CNN’s web coverage for four U.S. presidential elections.
A second-generation Georgia Tech alumnus (his father, Surendra, earned a master’s degree from Tech in 1970), Shah graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and served as sports editor of the Technique (student newspaper) during his time as a Tech student. He is an Alexander-Tharpe Fund Life Member.
Shah and his wife, Amanda, have a daughter, Sophia.
