Megan Payne joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association in August 2017 as a facilities and event operations assistant. She was promoted to facilities and event operations coordinator in July 2019.

As a coordinator, Payne is responsible for the planning and oversight of women’s volleyball and women’s basketball game management and event operations. She coordinates setup, staffing, parking, hospitality, officials and audio/video elements on gamedays for volleyball and women’s basketball. Additionally, she is the premium spaces manager for football, monitoring areas of suites and high-profile areas. In her role, she is also responsible for onboarding, training, scheduling and overseeing the event operations student/part-time staff totaling over 30 members that assist with events, office shifts, setups and shipping and receiving.

For two years as an assistant, Payne worked directly with volleyball and women’s tennis, planning and executing game management duties for all home events. She was also the secondary game day manager for women’s basketball, softball, men’s tennis and swimming and diving.

Prior to arriving on The Flats, Payne held stints with the Major League Baseball All-Star Game FanFest and Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey program.

Payne graduated from Florida State in 2014 with a bachelor of science in sport management and earned her master’s of science in sport management from FSU in 2016. While with the Seminoles, she spent three years as a facilities and event management assistant, supporting game operations for 20 athletic varsity programs.
