Evan Tubbs joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association in July 2022 as a compliance assistant.
In his role, he will assist with initial eligibility, amateurism and admission status for prospective student-athletes. Additionally, Tubbs will assist with recruiting monitoring systems, rules education, game day activities and data entry.
Prior to arriving on The Flats, Tubbs served as a legal intern to the chief legal officer for Austin F.C., one of 28 Major League Soccer clubs, during his final semester of law school. At Austin F.C., he helped draft contracts for sponsorship agreements and independent contractors, totaling over $1 million. He also prepared and filed trademark applications with the Texas Secretary of State for the club.
Since Jan. 2021, Tubbs was a legal paralegal assistant at Texas Freelance Paralegals where he gathered and analyzed relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material for trial preparation and settlement arrangements. He also assisted senior partners in drafting legal documents and research.
Tubbs gained collegiate athletic experience serving as a compliance and game management assistant from 2021-2022 at St. Mary’s University. During his time in the athletic department, he evaluated NCAA bylaws and distributed educational newsletters, while also assisting as a game management assistant for athletic events.
Tubbs earned a bachelor of arts in economics and mathematics from St. Edward’s University in 2019. He went to law school at St. Mary’s University, where he earned a J.D. in 2022.
