Newbill joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association in September 2015 as the assistant cheerleading coach. He came to The Flats after three years in Knoxville, Tennessee as the assistant coaching coach at The University of Tennessee. At UT, his primary role was to develop and mentor the athletes, recruit for the program and enhance the fan game-day experience with a cohesive crowd leading sideline
Newbill graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. During his undergraduate career, he competed at the UCA Collegiate National Championships and was a three year cheerleading scholarship recipient.
