A member of Georgia Tech athletics’ staff since 2012, Christie Hughes was named the Director of Facilities and Administration in March 2022.
In this role, Hughes oversees a wide variety of functions, including vendor relations, unit budget oversight, access control and various capital project. Hughes is also responsible for football gameday operational planning, set-up and management.
Prior to joining the Georgia Tech staff, she was the director of operations for facilities and events across downtown at Georgia State from 2009-12. While at GSU, she created all practice and game day event documents for the Panthers’ 16 Division I sports. She also served as the championship director for all CAA and NCAA tournaments held at GSU.
Before entering collegiate athletics, Hughes also spent time with the Georgia Force, Atlanta Falcons, Orlando Magic and Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Hughes earned her bachelor’s degree in parks, recreation, tourism and sports management with a business administration minor from NC State in 2003. She later received her master’s degree in sport management in 2006 from the University of Florida.
Christie and her husband, Phil, were married in October of 2013. The couple have one son, Nolan, born in May 2015 and one Daughter, Ellie, born in 2018.
