Ashley Norris returned to Georgia Tech in February 2021 and is responsible for the care of the softball team.

Prior to returning to Tech, Norris served as the athletic trainer for women’s basketball and women’s tennis at Long Beach State University, overseeing the men’s volleyball and men’s water polo programs from 2017-21.

From 2016-17, Norris served as the women’s basketball and women’s volleyball athletic trainer at the University of North Carolina Asheville. While with the Bulldogs, Norris also cared for the baseball program as an interim athletic trainer.

Before UNC Asheville, Norris held her first stint at Georgia Tech as an intern working with the football and cheerleading programs from 2015-16. She also was the interim athletic trainer for women’s basketball.

Norris earned a master’s in athletic training from Stephen F. Austin State University in May 2015, where she worked primarily with men’s basketball and football. She also volunteered as an athletic trainer for local rodeos during her time in Nacogdoches.

A native of Cumming, Ga., Norris began her athletic training career volunteering with the new football program at Georgia State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in May 2013.
