Andy Blanton joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association staff in October 2001 and is currently the assistant athletics director for video and broadcast services. He is responsible for the video and audio operations of every athletic venue for 17 sports on campus.

In addition to the renovation of McCamish Pavilion, Blanton has overseen Georgia Tech facility renovations for baseball (2001, 2014), football (2001, 2008), softball (2009) and tennis (2012).

Blanton has produced video for ESPN, Fox Sports, NCAA, ACC, and countless others. He also hosted the SEC Basketball championship in 2008 at Alexander Memorial Coliseum when tornado damage forced the tournament to relocate to Georgia Tech.

Prior to Georgia Tech, he worked with Charter Communications, producing local programming and sports in Spartanburg, S.C. He also managed video operations at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, S.C., for the Greenville Grrrowl minor league hockey team of the ECHL.

Blanton studied broadcast communications at Isothermal Technical College in Spindale, N.C.

He and his wife, Brooke, have two boys – Drew and Carter.
