2023 (Junior): Saw action in 47 games on the season, starting in 41 … Hit .333 on the season with 34 runs, 13 doubles, two triples, and eight home runs in 156 at-bats … Slugged .596 and had an on-base percentage of .422 with 22 walks drawn … Also went a perfect 3-for-3 with steals … Recorded a .974 field percentage with 234 putouts and 24 assists as Tech’s first baseman, in addition to 29 fielding double plays on 265 total chances … Opened the season against Miami (Ohio) (March 17) with three runs, a triple, and an RBI … Finished the series against Miami (Ohio) (March 19) with an RBI triple … Launched his first and second home run of the season against then-No.13/14 Boston College (April 2) along with another hit, giving him three runs, nine total bases, and an RBI double … Hit his third home run of the season, a two-run blast, to finish 2-for-4 against then-No.17 Miami (April 23) … Logged a home run, a double, and three RBI against Gardner-Webb (April 28) … In the six games prior to Gardner-Webb (April 29), Giesler hit .524 for 11 hits, four doubles, a triple, and three home runs for 10 RBI, in addition to slugging 1.238 with a .600 on base percentage … Continued his hot streak in the second game of the series against Gardner-Webb (April 29), finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI … Recorded another homer against Pittsburgh (May 7), logging two runs on the day and helping the team close out the series … Drove in a crucial two run homer against then-No. 10 Duke (May 12) … Finished the Duke series (May 12-14) with five hits, two RBI, a double and a home run … Recorded three hits in a tough 7-8 loss against then-No. 21 Virginia (May 20) in the regular season finale … Hit his final homer of the season in the ACC Tournament against North Carolina (May 23).
2022 (Sophomore): Appeared in 22 games, making six starts at first base … Hit .323 in 31 at-bats, recording 10 hits, one double and a homer for eight RBI … Reached base at a .450 clip … Went 1-for-1 with an RBI against Presbyterian (Feb. 23) … Smashed a two-run home run against Gardner-Webb (Feb. 25) … Recorded two more hits and another RBI in the doubleheader against Gardner-Webb (Feb. 26) … Recorded a hit against then-No. 5 Georgia (March 4) … Went 1-for-1 against Jackson State (March 15) and Wake Forest (March 19) … Went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run against USC Upstate (April 5) … Had an RBI double at Clemson (May 8) … Also drove in a run at Pitt (May 20) … Appeared in two games in the NCAA Knoxville Regional – June 4 vs. Alabama State; June 5 vs. Campbell.
2021 (Freshman): Did not make an appearance.
2020 (Freshman): Made three appearances in the shortened 2020 season … Made his collegiate debut in the field against Ohio State (Feb. 23), also going 1-for-1 at the plate … Also hit against Gardner-Webb (Feb. 25) and Tennessee Tech (March 3).
Before Tech: A top shortstop/utility player from the state of Georgia … Named to the 2019 Perfect Game 18U Summer Blowout All-Tournament team after posting a .636 average (seven hits) for seven RBI … Also earned All-Tournament honors in the 2019 PG 18U Battle of the South … A three-year letterwinner at Walton … Helped lead the team to Region 4,7A Championships in 2017 and 2019 … Named to the Atlanta Journal Constitution All-State Team in 2019 for third base … Selected to play in the 2019 Georgia Dugout Club All-State Game … Voted by the team as the MVP in 2019.
Personal: Was awarded the Ray Kroc Youth Achievement Award, given to the student who best exemplifies qualities of leadership, citizenship, scholarship and sportsmanship … Has two siblings … Father, John, swam at Toledo (1979) … Cousin, Jon, played professional football with the Miami Dolphins (1979-88) after playing at Michigan (1975-78) … Intends on majoring in business administration.
