The Initiatives and Campus Engagement Committee is a branch of Georgia Tech’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee that seeks to both aid in the initiatives of other SAAB committees and manage any general initiative that does not fall under the direct command of other SAAB committees. For the 2019-2020 academic year, the primary initiative of Campus Engagement has been to “bridge the gap” between the current student-athletes and the current student body. Examples of other initiatives that the committee is undertaking includes connecting student-athletes with alumni for career and mentorship purposes, as well as increasing connectivity between student-athletes and the Georgia Tech Letterwinner’s Club.
The Marketing Committee of SAAB is dedicated to promoting awareness for the events and fundraisers put on around campus, both by student-athletes and by the general student body. For the 2019-2020 school year, this committee is focusing on creating a website dedicated to SAAB to help students stay up to date with the multitude of events which the Marketing Committee helps host throughout each semester. From the annual Michael Isenhour Toy Drive or the Big B Clothing Drive, to one-time collections for disaster relief, the Marketing Committee makes sure that the word gets out to help spread the news regarding these exciting opportunities.
