Leaves Georgia Tech with his name stamped throughout the record books… rushed for more touchdowns (38) than any quarterback in ACC history… finished second in Tech history for career rushing yards by a QB… took over starting duties late in 2010 after Joshua Nesbitt went down with an injury and never relinquished that role… earned his undergraduate degree in May of 2012 and played the 2012 season as a graduate student.
2012 (senior): Started all 14 games… put the finishing touches on a career that makes him one of the most prolific rushing quarterbacks in the history of the Atlantic Coast Conference… served as a team captain… helped Georgia Tech lead the ACC and rank fourth nationally in rushing offense (311.2 ypg)… ranked fourth in the ACC and 31st nationally in scoring (8.6 ppg)… was Tech[apos]s offensive player of the game in the win over Duke (Nov. 17)… his 20 rushing touchdowns were the most ever by an ACC quarterback… the only QBs nationally to rush for more TDs in 2012 were Kansas State[apos]s Colin Klein and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel… rushed a team-high 177 times for 684 yards and 20 touchdowns… completed 74-of-133 passes (56.4 percent) for 1,222 yards, eight touchdowns and just four interceptions… led the team in total offense (1,906 yards)… his 120 points were a single-season record at Tech… scored 66 points more than any other Yellow Jacket… completed 10-of-15 passes including the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter in the season opener at Virginia Tech (Sept. 3).. completed 6-of-8 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown, and ran 11 times for 93 yards and three touchdowns vs. Virginia (Sept. 15)… rushed for three more touchdowns the following game, vs. Miami (Sept.22)… rushed for a career-high and record-tying four touchdowns, and completed a season-high 14 passes against Middle Tennessee State (Sept. 29)… rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns, and completed 9-of-14 passes for 144 yards and a TD at Clemson (Oct. 6)… passed and ran for touchdowns in the Sun Bowl victory over USC (Dec. 31).
2011 (junior): Started all 13 games at quarterback… came just short of rushing for 1,000 yards… his 986 rushing yards were the second-most ever by a Tech quarterback… averaged 75.9 rushing yards per game to rank fifth in the ACC and 58th nationally… ranked sixth in the ACC in scoring (6.46 ppg)… ranked 10th in the ACC in total offense (203.0 ypg)… completed just under 50 percent of his pass attempts (49.3) for 1,652 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions… his pass efficiency rating (155.38) was the second-highest in Tech history… ranked second on the team in scoring (84 points) and was responsible for 25 touchdowns…. had 12 rushing attempts of 20 yards or longer… completed 31 passes of 20 yards or longer including 15 of 40 yards or longer… came out firing in the season opener against Western Carolina (Sept. 1), completing 8-of-13 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns, including an 82-yard TD pass to Stephen Hill… passed for 202 yards and two touchdowns at Middle Tennessee State (Sept. 10) including a 73-yard TD pass to Tony Zenon on Tech[apos]s first offensive play of the game… passed for two TDs vs. Kansas (Sept. 17)… completed 10-of-14 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 74 yards and two TDs in a win over North Carolina (Sept. 24)… rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 32 attempts and passed for 114 yards vs. Maryland (Oct. 8)… ran for 115 yards and two TDs at Virginia (Oct. 15)… erupted for 176 yards rushing and one touchdown in a win over sixth-ranked Clemson (Oct. 29)… rushed for three touchdowns and 77 yards and completed 5-of-10 passes vs. Virginia Tech (Nov. 10)… rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown and passed for 185 yards in a win at Duke (Nov. 19).. rushed for 96 yards and completed 11-of-15 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown vs. Utah (Dec. 31).
2010 (sophomore): Played in eight games and started the final four games… rushed 116 times for 514 yards (4.4 yards per carry) and four touchdowns… completed 25-of-61 pass attempts for 417 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions… produced 931 yards of total offense… rushed seven times for 44 yards and a touchdown in the season opener vs. South Carolina State (Sept. 4)… did not play in games 2-5… responded well in a difficult situation when starter Joshua Nesbitt went down with a season-ending injury late in the first half of the Nov. 4 Virginia Tech game… played the entire second half and nearly rallied the Yellow Jackets to a road win on national television… rushed 11 time for 45 yards and completed two passes for 80 yards against the Hokies… rushed for 122 yards on 21 carries and passed for 101 yards and a touchdown in his first career start, vs. Miami (Nov. 13)… carried 21 times for 94 yards and a TD, and passed for 90 yards and a TD in the win over Duke (Nov. 20)… rushed 23 times for 73 yards and two touchdowns and completed 8-of-15 passes for 101 yards at Georgia (Nov. 27)… had career highs for rushing attempts (28) and rushing yards (131) in the Independence Bowl vs. Air Force.
2009 (redshirt freshman): Began the season as the top back-up to Joshua Nesbitt at quarterback… moved down the depth chart to third after Jaybo Shaw returned from injury… played in one game — the season opener against Jacksonville State (Sept. 5)… completed his only pass, for 21 yards… rushed six times for 40 yards including a long run of 17 yards.
2008 (true freshman): Redshirted and often played quarterback on the scout team.
High School: Named first team class 6A all-state… a two-time member of the Montgomery Advertiser all-metro team… earned all-county honors three times… ranked as the No. 60 prospect nationally at quarterback by Scout… posted career numbers of 5,042 yards passing, 2,097 yards rushing, 42 passing touchdowns and 25 rushing TDs… rushed for 1,088 yards and 14 TDs as a senior… led Wetumpka to a 10-2 record in 2007… passed for more than 200 yards five times in `07, including a season-high 254 yards in the second round of the state playoffs… rushed for more than 100 yards in five games, including a season-high 214 yards vs. Fairhope HS… a three-year starter for the Indians… played four years of football, including two as team captain, under coach Chad Anderson… also played basketball and baseball.
