An All-American at offensive guard… one of Georgia Tech[apos]s most-decorated offensive linemen of all-time… a two-time first team All-ACC selection… helped Georgia Tech rank in the top four nationally in rushing in each of his four seasons… has great strength and has improved his fundamentals since arriving at Tech… moves well laterally and plays with great effort.
2012 (senior): Started all 14 games as a senior, demonstrating his toughness and versatility… earned first team All-ACC honors for the second straight year and was named third team All-American by CBSSports.com… was invited to play in the East-West Shrine Game, but chose not to participate because of an injury… helped Georgia Tech lead the ACC and rank fourth nationally in rushing offense (311.2 ypg)… Tech also led the ACC and ranked fifth nationally in time of possession… named to ESPN.com[apos]s ACC All-Bowl Team.
2011 (junior): Earned second team All-American honors from SI.com and third team honors from Rivals… named first team All-ACC… was on the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy… started the first 12 games of the season… sat out the Hyundai Sun Bowl with an injury… helped Georgia Tech lead the ACC in rushing offense, total offense, scoring offense, fewest sacks allowed and third-down conversion percentage.
2010 (sophomore): Started all 12 games he played in… missed the Sept. 11 Kansas game with an injury… named second team All-ACC, joining senior teammate Sean Bedford to give the Yellow Jackets two all-conference selections… twice nominated for ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week. 2009 (redshirt freshman): One of the top reserves on the offensive line… played in 12 games… helped Tech lead the ACC in rushing offense and total offense.
2008 (true freshman): Redshirted as a true freshman.
High School: The ninth-rated offensive guard prospect nationally according to Scout.com… a first team all-state selection in 2007… also named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution[apos]s All-Citywide Team… a 2007 U.S. Army All-American and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl… chosen to play in the first Dekalb County Senior All-Star Game… named most outstanding lineman at Chamblee High School… helped lead Chamblee to a 12-2 record in 2007 – the most wins in school history… Chamblee advanced to the state semifinals and earned a final state ranking of No. 3… was instrumental in Chamblee rushing for 4,267 yards (7.5 yards per carry) and 60 touchdowns in 2007… as a junior in 2006, Uzzi recorded 70 tackles and two sacks.
