Former Georgia Tech women[apos]s tennis assistant coach Jeff Wilson returns for his second season the team[apos]s volunteer assistant coach.
Since 2003, Wilson has owned and operated the Alpharetta Tennis Academy, specializing in junior tennis programs. He is a USA High Performance coach and has worked with hundreds of sectionally, nationally and internationally ranked juniors.
Prior to opening the Alpharetta Tennis Academy, Wilson spent three years working as the Director of Sports Psychology for the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. While with the NBTA, Wilson was based in Bradenton, Fla., for one year before being moved to London, England and Buhl, Germany. Wilson was responsible for player development, recruitment and sports psychology for the NBTA in both Europe and Africa.
In the collegiate coaching ranks, Wilson was a men[apos]s assistant coach at San Jose State from 1992-94 and a women[apos]s coach at Georgia Tech from 1997-98 and Duke from 1998-2000.
A sports psychology major at San Jose State, Wilson was a two-year letterwinner for the Spartans tennis team.
Wilson currently resides in Alpharetta, Ga., with his wife, the former Kim Koch, and their children, Reilly (8) and Susie-Jane (6).
