2016 (Senior): Saw action in 24 games in reserve role, making four starts in outfield … Hit .273 with one home run and 11 RBI … Was 2-for-2 against Western Michigan (Feb. 20) with double, run scored and two RBI … Drove in two runs March 5 vs. Western Carolina … Went 2-for-3 with RBI against NC State on April 16 … Crushed pinch-hit three-run home run on May 10 against Savannah State, first career home run … Drove in run at Virginia on May 14 … Also had RBI against Bethune-Cookman in NCAA Gainesville Regional (June 4).
2015 (Junior): Appeared in career-high 24 games and made four starts … Made two starts at designated hitter, one in right field and one in left … Finished year with seven hits, scored nine times and drove in four runs … Drew walk and scored in pinch-hit appearance on Opening Day against St. John’s … Posted first career multi-hit performance going 2-for-2 with pair of singles and run in six-run eighth inning en route to 15-2 win over Indiana State on Feb. 28 … Singled and scored in 22-6 victory over Georgia Southern on March 10 … Coaxed clutch, lead-off walk and scored go-ahead run in 11th inning of 7-6 win over Kennesaw State on March 17, first career game-winning run … Made first start of season at No. 7 Louisville on March 28 in left field and walked and scored … Started again against Georgia State as DH on April 1 and drove in two runs in first career multi-RBI performance and first career game-winning RBI … Filled in for injured Arden Pabst on Sunday against No. 15 Virginia batting in DH spot — drew lead-off walk in fifth and scored to give Tech 4-0 lead in Jackets’ 4-3 victory … Provided pinch-hit ninth-inning single on Friday against Virginia … Came through off bench with 2-for-3 effort and run in 11-9 comeback win over Presbyterian.
2014 (Sophomore): Appeared in 16 games and made four starts for the Yellow Jackets… Saw action both in the outfield and behind the plate… Recorded five hits with one double, one walk and swiped pair of bases … Earned first career start vs. VCU (Feb. 16) and went 1-for-2 … Started at designated hitter vs. UNCG (Feb. 23) and singled, stole first career base and scored … Was starting DH again vs. Wake Forest on March 8 and delivered first career double … Entered Tech game on April 4 as pinch-hitter and finished 1-for-3 with run and second career stolen base.
2013 (True Freshman): Appeared in 11 games as freshman … Was 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run and one walk … Earned first collegiate at bat vs. St. John’s on Feb. 24 … Registered first career RBI with sacrifice fly vs. Rutgers on March 2 … Walked and scored first career run in win over Savannah State on April 16 … First career hit was RBI single during Tech’s ninth-inning rally at Miami on May 17 — the Jackets scored four times but fell 11-7.
Before Tech: Four-year baseball letterwinner at Chattahoochee HS under head coach Tim Lemons … Played catcher exclusively during four-year career … Was named All-Region (2010-2012 seasons) … Led team in every batting statistic during senior year and led team in RBI in last three years … Graduated Summa Cum Laude and was listed on Honor Roll every semester in high school.
Personal: Full name is Grant Timothy Wruble … Born Oct. 15, 1993, in Cincinnati, Ohio … Son of Tim and Roxann Wruble … Has one younger sister, Claire Wruble … Chose Georgia Tech because of Georgia Tech’s prestigious degree, always wanted to play in ACC, and is lifelong Georgia Tech fan … Graduated from Georgia Tech with bachelor’s degree in business administration in May 2016.
