When healthy, Alford is one of the Tech[apos]s most skilled offensive linemen… has battled nagging injuries the past two years and is hoping to enjoy an injury-free junior season… a versatile player who played tight end and nose guard in high school.
2012 (sophomore): Saw action in seven games as one of the top reserves on the offensive line… was listed on the two-deep all season when healthy… started to get more healthy towards the end of the season, playing in the regular season finale at Georgia and in the ACC Championship Game against Florida State.
2011 (redshirt freshman): Saw action in six games as a back-up on the offensive line… played against Western Carolina, Middle Tennessee State, Kansas, NC State, and in the final two games of the season against Georgia and Utah.
2010 (true freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Adairsville HS… rated the 79th-best prospect in the state of Georgia (Rivals)… rated the 39th-best guard nationally by Scout.com… named second team Small Schools All-America (MaxPreps)… played four seasons of football, including three as a team captain, for coach Jim Kremer… also participated in track for four years (shot put, discus) and played basketball for three seasons… first team AA All-State and All-Area… played in the GHSA North vs. South Game.
