2017 (Sophomore): Made 14 appearances out of the bullpen for the Jackets … Went 0-1 on the season with a 5.21 ERA … Struck out 18 batters in 19.0 innings of work on the year … Struck out a career-high four batters at Georgia (April 11) … Threw a season-high 2.1 innings in the win over Pittsburgh (May 7) … Pitched one scoreless inning versus Youngstown State (Feb. 26) and in the road win at Mercer (Mar. 28) … Threw 2.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts in two appearances versus No. 5 Clemson (Mar. 31 & April 2) … Posted 2.0 scoreless innings out of the bullpen in the win at Virginia Tech (April 21) … Threw a scoreless inning and struck out one in the regular season finale versus No. 8 Virginia (May 20) … Also struck out three in 2.1 innings of relief versus Pitt (May 7).
2016 (Freshman): A walk-on that was impressive during his freshman season with a 0.64 ERA in 11 appearances out of the bullpen … Did not allow a run in his first five appearances (7.1 innings) … Made his collegiate debut on March 15 vs. Auburn, pitching 1.0 inning of scoreless relief … Struck out a career-high four batters in 2.0 hitless innings against Duke on April 3 … Went a career-long 3.0 innings of middle relief in the one-run loss to Mercer on April 19 … Lone run allowed came on April 26 at Georgia … Struck out two batters each against Savannah State (May 10), Virginia (May 14) and Boston College (May 21).
Before Tech: Four-year letterwinner at Whitefield Academy for his father and head coach Mark Combs … In his senior season, he led the team to a 23-6 record and batted .312 with seven home runs … Hit over .300 all four seasons of high school and maintained a 3.20 ERA on the mound … Earned second-team 6-A all-region honors in 2015 … Listed on Whitefield’s honor roll all four years and was a member of the National Honor Society.
