Aug. 30, 2005

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I like R&B music. Most people think I like rap better, but R&B is my favorite.

What would be your ultimate Sports Center highlight?

To relive the Miami game last year. I had a big run on the first play of the game and I could have scored a touchdown but I wasn’t fast enough. I’ll get another chance this year, though.

If you had to exchange wardrobes with someone on the team, whose clothes would you want?

If I had to pick someone, it would be either be Brian Fleuridor or Drew Gause. They dress pretty nice.

Tell about one visible scar…

I have one on my forehead. When I was 3 or 4 years old, we were on a road trip, and me and my brother were playing on a truck and my mother told us to come in. I ran in crying because I didn’t want to, and I ran into the corner of the wall. I had to get stitches and I remember people holding me down because I was screaming so much.

If you could relive any single family outing in your life what would it be?

I can’t remember what year it was, but our second family reunion here was very nice.

If you could have season tickets for any team, sitting in any place in the stadium, which team would it be and where would you sit?

My high school, Mays High, and I would be right down on the field.

Who has had the greatest influence on your athletic career?

Julian Demario Johnson. He was one of my friends that I grew up with, and he died in 1998. He was the one that introduced me to playing football. He was a really good football player, too.

If you were forced to give up all your possessions but on, which one would it be?

I would definitely have to keep my cell phone.

What is your best non-athletic talent?

Folks tell me I can sing. I’m also good at video games. I’ve only played as myself one time on NCAA Football 2006 on Playstation. I’m pretty good on there, but I’m not that good.

What is the most valuable thing you’ve learned from being a college athlete?

Time management, without a doubt.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I sit down and listen to music.

What has been the most memorable game that you have been a part of?

The most memorable game was last year’s Clemson game when we came back and scored 2 touchdowns in the last couple of minutes to win the game.

What won’t you miss about being a college athlete?

Football camp and 2-a-days. I will definitely not miss it.

What is your all-time favorite meal?

My favorite meal would have to be fried chicken, potato salad, greens, apple pie and some chocolate cake.

If you could make one thing come true for a friend, what would it be and for whom?

My friend Adarius Adams. He used to play football with me when we were younger but he never got the chance to play at the next level.

What team would you add to the schedule?

Well, we’ve already played some awesome teams. Two years ago, I would’ve probably said Miami but now we play them since they’re in the ACC. Now, I’d have to say Ohio State.

Besides Bobby Dodd Stadium, what is your favorite stadium to play in?

Lakewood Stadium, where I played high school football.

Favorite musical artist:

The R&B singer Anthony Hamilton

Favorite TV show:

Either The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or Friends. I just think Friends is so funny.

Who is the person you would most like to meet (dead or alive)?

My uncle on my mom’s side. He died before I was born and my family always told stories about him while I was growing up.

Who is the athlete you most admire?

Warrick Dunn. He’s one of the smallest players on the field but he’s got a heart as big as anybody.

If you could play any other sport at Tech, what would it be?

That would be basketball, especially since we’ve had a really good team the past few years.

Besides playing in the NFL, what are your plans after college?

When I was younger, I really wanted to be a police officer. I’ve never really thought about what I want be. I’ve always thought it’s better to just live my life day by day.

What was the hardest thing about transferring from Morris Brown, and do you still stay in touch with your old teammates?

The speed of the game was totally different. We had players that were as big as some guys here, but the speed was so much faster. I definitely still stay in touch with all my teammates.

Name a professor that has had an impact on you here at Tech:

Deborah Turner, my managerial accounting professor. She really made us work for our grade.
