TOP STORYLINES

• No. 6 Georgia Tech baseball looks to remain hot at home in a two-game midweek series against Jackson State on March 15-16 at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium.

• This will be the first all-time meeting between the two programs.

• The 6th-ranked Jackets have proved to be every bit of the offensive powerhouse they were touted to be in the preseason. Through 16 games, Tech nationally ranks eighth with 28 home runs, sixth with 188 hits, and 12th with 149 runs.

• Georgia Tech also ranks 15th in walks (91), 16th in batting average (.322) and 17th in on-base percentage (.429).

• Chandler Simpson has been the spark plug for Tech, ranking ninth in the nation in hits (29) and sixth in runs (24). He’s batting .468 on the year with a .564 on-base percentage.

• Kevin Parada has also been unstoppable at the plate, currently ranking No. 5 in the country in hits (30), sixth in home runs (8), third in RBI (28) and second in total bases (60). He’s hitting .455 with a .556 OBP and just six strikeouts in 66 at-bats.

• Also red-hot at the plate are Andrew Jenkins (.333), Drew Compton (.333), and Tres Gonzalez (.327).

• Tech’s pitching has continued to show its power, getting terrific outings on the weekend from freshmen Aeden Finateri, Cody Carwile, Camron Hill and Logan McGuire.

• Starters for Georgia Tech have been consistent as well as Chance Huff leads with a 3.38 ERA and Zach Maxwell and Aeden Finateri holds a 4.50 ERA. Marquis Grissom, Jr. has also lowered his ERA to 5.14 over his last couple outings.

• Currently six relief pitchers sport an ERA south of 4.00.
