TOP STORYLINES
• No. 12 Georgia Tech baseball continues its busy start to the season when it plays a home-and-home with Kennesaw State on March 22-23, beginning at Kennesaw before moving to Atlanta.
• Georgia Tech currently owns a 23-8 record all-time against the Owls. The series began in 1987, but the teams did not meet annually until 2006.
• The 12th-ranked Jackets have proved to be every bit of the offensive powerhouse they were touted to be in the preseason. Through 20 games, Tech nationally ranks ninth with 35 home runs, third with 237 hits, and ninth with 189 runs.
• Georgia Tech also ranks 12th in walks (117), 12th in batting average (.322) and 11th in on-base percentage (.430).
• Kevin Parada has been unstoppable at the plate, currently ranking No. 15 in the country in hits (34), 16th in home runs (8), 13th in RBI (30) and 13th in total bases (64). He’s hitting .400 with a .495 OBP and just eight strikeouts in 85 at-bats.
• Also red-hot at the plate are Andrew Jenkins (.363), Tres Gonzalez (.347), Tim Borden II (.321) and Drew Compton (.299).
• Jenkins was named a national player of the week by Collegiate Baseball for his eight hits and four home runs last week.
• Dalton Smith will be the Yellow Jackets’ pitcher on Tuesday with Wednesday still to be determined.
• Smith currently sports the second-best ERA on the team at 1.69 in four appearances and one start with a 1-0 record.
• Currently five relief pitchers sport an ERA south of 4.00.
