TOP STORYLINES
• Georgia Tech baseball concludes its four-game road swing on the road against No. 14 Boston College on March 31-April 2.
• Georgia Southern is one of Tech’s most common opponents, having played 137 times since 1947. Tech owns a 105-32 advantage over the Eagles.
• Tech has won 13 of the last 14 matchups dating back to 2014.
• Down two of its weekend starters, Tech’s pitched staff performed admirably well stretched thin against then-No. 13 Boston College.
• Both Luke Schmolke and Jackson Finley turned in quality starts of 5.0 innings and less than three runs.
• In both Game 1 and 2, the bullpens held strong to keep Tech leading (Game 1) or within two runs (Game 2), but Tech split the opening two games to set up a deciding third game.
• A small, but nevertheless important step toward a completely healthy pitching staff comes in the return on Logan McGuire on Tuesday, a weekend starter who last pitched on Feb. 25.
• His continued work back from injury is buoyed by the hopeful return of Friday-night starter Dawson Brown against North Carolina.
• Georgia Tech was held to an uncharacteristic average of six runs per game this weekend (averaged 9.0).
• Despite that, Tech has been red-hot at the plate, ranking No. 2 in the ACC in average (.314) with seven .300 hitters in the lineup: Kristian Campbell (.455), Jake DeLeo (.407), Angelo Dispigna (.345), Stephen Reid (.333), Jackson Finley (.330), Jack Rubenstein (.314) and Jadyn Jackson (.311).
• Campbell was blistering hot against Boston College, going 8-for-10 with two doubles and four runs. He drew four walks for an on-base percentage of .867.
