TOP STORYLINES
• Georgia Tech baseball remains home in its seven-game homestand when it hosts non-conference foe Gardner-Webb on April 28-30 while the Jackets are in the midst of final exams.
• This weekend will make the second-straight year Tech has played the Runnin’ Bulldogs in a three-game series. Tech is 6-0 against GWU dating back to 2002.
• Tech has been snake bitten all year by injuries, not having its intended 1-9 lineup alongside its 1-4 starting pitchers for any games after Opening Day. On the mound specifically, Tech has had three pitchers miss a combined 12 weekend starts over the last eight weekends.
• Tech got the welcomed return of Dawson Brown to the pitching staff on Sunday as he earned the win with 2.2 innings in relief.
• Tech also got a career start from Camron Hill on Tuesday, going 4.1 innings scoreless with four strikeouts to set up Tech’s 6-3 win over the Bears.
• Where Tech has excelled is at the plate, ranking No. 2 in the ACC in average (.316) with six .300 hitters in the lineup: Kristian Campbell (.411), Jake DeLeo (.386), Angelo Dispigna (.360), John Giesler (.316), Jackson Finley (.309), and Jadyn Jackson (.308).
• Giesler has had multi-hit performances in four of his last six games and has hit in 13 of his last 14. In his last 10, Giesler has led Tech with a .371 average, four doubles, two home runs and eight RBI.
• Reid and Dispigna have also been red-hot in the last 10 games, hitting .368 and .357, respectively.
• DeLeo ranks in the top 10 of the ACC in average, doubles (17), hits (68), home runs (12), RBI (45), slugging (.699) and total bases (123).
• Compton has also been a welcomed return as his average nears .300 (.297) since returning to injury. On Tuesday he launched his second career grand slam in the 6-3 win.
