Georgia Tech Named Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Team of the Week

THE FLATS – The national recognition keeps rolling in for Georgia Tech football following last Saturday’s 24-21 win over Clemson, as the Yellow Jackets have been named the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Team of the Week by the Football Writers Association of America and Florida Citrus Sports.

Georgia Tech (3-0, 1-0 ACC) remained unbeaten in dramatic fashion, as Aidan Birr’s school-record-tying 55-yard field goal as time expired lifted the Yellow Jackets to the victory. With the win, the Jackets:

  • secured their first 3-0 start since 2016;
  • upped their record to 7-1 against nationally ranked Atlantic Coast Conference opponents under head coach Brent Key;
  • extended their winning streak at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field to seven-straight victories, extending their longest winning streak at their venerable home venue since they won eight-straight from 2016-17;
  • snapped a nine-game losing streak against longtime ACC rival Clemson;
  • moved into the Associated Press and US LMB coaches top-25 polls at No. 18 and No. 19, respectively, good for their highest national rankings since 2015.
