THE FLATS – DJ Envy will hold the first pregame concert in the history of Georgia Tech’s new and exciting Helluva Block Party driven by Hyundai, Georgia Tech athletics announced on Wednesday.
A nationally renowned DJ, producer, TV/radio personality, actor and model, DJ Envy will take the stage at Helluva Block Party prior to this Saturday’s game versus South Carolina State.
Pregame concerts are FREE as part of Helluva Block Party driven by Hyundai, which will transform the Georgia Tech football pregame experience by bringing the excitement and pageantry of Tech football to one of the most visible and vibrant areas of campus and the city of Atlanta – North Avenue. A three-block stretch of North Avenue – from Techwood Drive/Centennial Olympic Park Drive to Tech Parkway/Luckie Street – will be temporarily closed to traffic to accommodate the activities.
Surrounded by some of Georgia Tech’s most iconic locations, including the south entrances to Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field and Tech Tower Lawn, the timeline for Helluva Block Party features:
6 HOURS PRIOR TO KICKOFF
North Avenue closes to traffic from Techwood Drive/Centennial Olympic Park Drive to Tech Parkway/Luckie Street and setup for HBP begins.
4 HOURS PRIOR TO KICKOFF
Tailgating at Helluva Block Party begins! Tailgating options include:

Tailgating activities will feature fun for the whole family that was previously part of Wreckfest on Callaway Plaza, including interactive games and activities for fans of all ages.
2 ½ HOURS PRIOR TO KICKOFF
The Yellow Jackets’ arrival to Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field – Yellow Jacket Alley – has a new home as a centerpiece of Helluva Block Party. Fans are encouraged to line the way along North Avenue between Cherry Street and Bobby Dodd Stadium’s Gate 1 to give the Jackets a raucous reception as they enter the stadium. The team’s buses will arrive at the corner of North Avenue and Cherry Street and the team will proceed east on North Ave before entering the stadium at Gate 1.
IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING YELLOW JACKET ALLEY
As soon as the Jackets are inside the stadium, the attention turns to the Helluva Block Party stage for the pregame concert. On Saturday, DJ Envy will entertain and energize fans before turning it over to Georgia Tech Marching Band for their traditional pregame show. Additional artists will be announced throughout the fall.

Helluva Block Party shuts down to allow fans to be in their seats for Georgia Tech’s electrifying pregame activities and toe meets leather!
North Avenue will reopen for postgame traffic beginning at the start of the third quarter.

ABOUT DJ ENVY
A native of Queens, New York, Raashaun Casey, “DJ Envy,” prides himself on bringing style, innovation and luxury to his beats. At the age of 17, he took his passion for music and started out on the road to becoming Mixtape Legend and President/CEO of Blok Entertainment. Since then, he has made tracks in every part of the industry, appearing as a DJ, producer, TV/Radio personality, actor and model.
In the early 2000’s, DJ Envy started premiering exclusive freestyles by Hip Hop names such as Jay-Z, 50 Cent and the L.O.X. The young DJ has been recognized for his hard work. He’s a three time “Justo Mixtape Award” winner and he won the award for “Most Influential Radio DJ” at the Underground Music Awards in 2008.
DJ Envy hosted his own midday show on Power 105.1 in New York before joining Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee as co-hosts of The Breakfast Club. After only two years on Power 105, the show was dubbed the number one radio program in the nation by “The Source” Magazine and is widely regarded as the most informative and entertaining Hip Hop and R&B morning show today.
Each morning, fans of The Breakfast Club tune in to hear their unrivaled interviews and conversations with celebrities and hip-hop artists, entertainment news, fresh music mixes, along with their signature blend of honesty and humor.
