Women of Color Initiative – Outstanding Student Impact Award
Attallah Smith, track and field, was named the winner of the 2022 Women of Color Initiative (WOCI) Student Impact Award on Oct. 2, 2022. The WOCI Awards Celebration, hosted by the Office of Minority Educational Development (OMED) partnered with WOCI to gather and honor women who have made notable contributions in social justice, higher education, industry or community committed to the advancement of women and addressing disparities at the intersection of race/ethnicity and gender.
2021 ACC UNITE Award Recipients
In conjunction with ACC CORE, Georgia Tech selected Harvey Webb, Eddie McAshan and Jan Hilliard as its recipients of the inaugural ACC UNITE Award. The award was created to honor individuals affiliated with the league who have made an impact in the areas of racial and social justice. For the inaugural year, the recipients celebrated the individuals who – according to available information – were the first male and female athletes of color to integrate the athletic teams at each ACC institution.
