Video Internships

ATHLETICS VIDEO INTERNSHIP POSITIONS AT GEORGIA TECH
The Georgia Tech Athletics Association, along with the ACC conference and ESPN, is currently seeking responsible, organized, and dedicated students to be a part of the team that broadcasts ACC Network live events.  During the 2018-19 year, the program was responsible for broadcasting 120 live events to the ESPN, ACC Network, RamblingWreck.com, producing 100 in-game video board productions, and multiple other events such as Atlanta United, Atlanta Hawks, Governor’s Inauguration, Concert events, and many more.

The Video and Broadcast Department is a diverse group of individuals with varying experiences and backgrounds working together to Create Exceptional, Professional, Memorable and Fun Experiences that Tell the Story of Georgia Tech Athletics and its Fans.

Applicants must be enrolled at Georgia Tech or a partnering program for both the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters to be considered.  All majors are welcome to apply.

Basic Qualifications

  • Desire to learn about Video/Audio equipment
  • Knowledge of sports
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to effectively execute complex checklists
  • Remain calm under pressure in a variety of production situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in sports media
  • Prior production internship or work experience
  • Familiar with non-linear editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Familiar with professional video equipment
  • Experience archiving HD video

Potential interns can apply for one or all of the following positions:

Office Intern

  • Assist with production organization of Video Department events
  • 5-6 hours in the office per week

Event Production Intern 
*Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work nights and/or weekends

In-game production positions include

  • Camera Operator
  • Graphics Operator
  • Graphics Assistant
  • Utility
  • TD
  • Audio A1
  • Timeout Coordinator
  • Replay Operator

Training for each position will be provided both prior to and during events

Assistant Broadcast Engineer/IT Intern

  • Assist with the design, installation, setup, breakdown, and maintenance of complex fiber optic, sdi, video, audio, and computer systems.
  • Prefer student majoring in Engineering or IT
  • Training will be provided

Assistant Editor Intern

  • Assist with the editing of Videos used on Broadcast and Video Board shows
  • Must have solid knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Training will be provided
