Peck Wins on Day One of Bob Pollock Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – Georgia Tech track and field sophomore Ryan Peck nabbed a first-place finish in the men’s 5000m on Friday at the Bob Pollock Invitational. The competition continues on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET.

“Day one results were a mixed bag,” said men’s track and field head coach Grover Hinsdale. “I was pleased with what William Solomon and Ryan Thomas did in the long jump. Ben Jean continues to perform very well during his first indoor season running another PR this afternoon.”

Peck finished first with a career-best time of 14:57.04 in the 5000m. Ryan Miller also set a career-best time in the 5000m, finishing third at 15:16.83. William Solomon posted a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 7.39m. Freshman Benjamin Jean raced a career-best time of 47.78 in the 400m.

On the women’s side, senior Kenya Collins took another top-three finish, placing third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.34. Courtney Naser set a career-best time of 5:13.73 in the mile run. Jeanine Williams posted a time of 7.68 in the 60m dash, a career best for the sophomore. Rebecca Dow recorded a career-best in the 5000m with a time of 18:26.04
