TRINGALE POSTS ANOTHER HIGH FINISH
Again putting together a consistently high level of performance, Cameron Tringale posted another high finish last weekend at the Genesis Invitational, tying for 13th place at famed Riviera Country Club with a 9-under-par total of 275. Joaquin Niemann won the event with a 19-under-par total of 265.
Tringale is No. 14 on the Fed Ex Cup points list, solidly in position to advance to the Tour Championship in August if he can maintain it. The 34-year-old, who has three top-10 finishes in 11 events, surpassed $2 million in earnings for the 2021-22 season and is less than $400,000 from his entire 2020-21 total.
Among the other Yellow Jackets in the field last weekend, Matt Kuchar tied for 67th place and is No. 88 I FedEx Cup points. Vincent Whaley (No. 71) and Chesson Hadley (No. 188) missed the cut.
The PGA Tour comes East to begin the Florida Swing this weekend with The Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Stewart Cink, looking to boost his No. 153 position in the FedEx Cup, returns to action along with Seth Reeves (No. 134), Richy Werenski (No. 211) and Whaley.

BLIND GOLFER JAKE OLSON MEETS CHESSON HADLEY AT GENESIS
Jake Olson, a blind former long snapper for the University of Southern California hasn’t let adversity deter him from pursuing his passions. He has become quite the golfer guided by the help of his father, Brian Olson, and his guide dog, Quebec, who help him navigate golf courses and set up for each shot. Prior to The Genesis Invitational 2022, Olson met up with Chesson Hadley on the driving range to show off his skills while Hadley attempted to hit a few drives blindfolded.

CINK INDUCTED INTO GEORGIA SPORTS HALL OF FAME
Stewart Cink was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Class last weekend in Macon, Ga., along with swimmer James Bankston, high school football coach Alan Chadwick, sports broadcaster Steve Holman, baseball player Bob Horner, football players Warrick Dunn, Deon Grant and Eric Zeier.
Cink, originally Florence, Ala., accepted a golf scholarship to Georgia Tech where he was a three-time All-American, ACC and College Player of the Year in 1995. Cink turned pro in 1996 and won three times on the PGA Nike Tour including their Tour Championship. The following year, Stewart won the Greater Hartford Open on his way to being named 1997 PGA Rookie of the Year. Stewart claimed 4 more victories before his finest professional moment happened in the summer of 2009 when he defeated the overwhelming sentimental choice: 59-year old Tom Watson in a playoff at the Open Championship. He teamed with oldest son Connor to win the 2013 PNC Father-Son Challenge. After a seven year drought, Cink returned to the winners circle in 2020 capturing the Safeway Open. He did so with a new caddie on the bag, his youngest son Reagan who has since taken the position full time. Cink owns 8 career TOUR victories. He has been the recipient of some of the games highest honors including the Silver Anniversary Award by the NCAA and the PGA Tour’s Payne Stewart Award.

KORN FERRY TOUR RESUMES IN COLOMBIA
Paul Haley II continued a strong start to the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour season with a 14th-place finish at the LECOM Suncoast Classic at Lakewood Ranch in Florida. Haley maintained his No. 9 position in the KFT points standings with four rounds in the 60s, including a closing 65, for a 14-under-par total of 270. Anders Albertson tied for 55th place, while Luke Schniederjans, who Monday qualified, missed the cut.
The Korn Ferry Tour now takes a month off and resumes the weekend of March 17-20 in Louisiana.

DUVAL COMPETES AT CHUBB CLASSIC
David Duval tied for 68th in his second PGA Tour Champions event, the Chubb Classic last weekend in Naples, Fla. He stands No. 49 in the Charles Schwab Cup points list. The former world No. 1 made his Champions debut in the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai in Hawaii last month, and tied for 34th. He turned 50 on Nov. 9.
Duval won 13 PGA Tour events, all from 1997 to 2001, including the 1999 Players, the 1997 Tour Championship, and the 2001 British Open. He became the first player to shoot 59 in the final round of a tournament to win in 1999 at the now-American Express.

FRIENDS DUVAL, FURYK REFLECT ON EARLY DAYS AS PROS
David Duval and Jim Furyk have won millions of dollars in their respective PGA Tour careers.
They’ve played some of the best rounds in Tour history. Duval shot a 59, and so did Furyk, who followed that up a few years later with a record 58.
The two reunite this week at the 35th Chubb Classic on the PGA Tour Champions at Tiburón Golf Club at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort.
“To have been knowing and playing and competing against somebody for 35, 36 years, and he and I are dear friends, our wives are dear friends, Tabitha and Susie, I just think that just the opportunity to kind of reconnect that way, especially in a competitive environment, is a true blessing that the Champions Tour provides,” Duval said.
