Georgia Tech had a short stay in its home arena before hitting the road for its sixth game in the past seven, making the trip to Boston College. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a dominating win over Central Michigan on Dec. 11, 71-45, in its first home game in three weeks. Four Jackets closed the game in double-figure scoring numbers paced by a team-high 14 points from Bianca Jackson. Cameron Swartz, a fifth-year transfer from Boston College, continues to lead Tech offensively on the season, averaging 13.6 points per game. She is followed closely by Jackson at 13.3 points per game.
Boston College carries a 9-4 record into Sunday’s matinee and has won four of the past five, and two-straight. Sunday’s meeting will mark the return of Cameron Swartz to Conte Forum. Swartz played three seasons with the Eagles, finishing with 1,055 career points.
Competitive Drive Initiative
In a unified endeavor, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation, Georgia Tech athletics and the Alexander-Tharpe Fund have come together to accelerate funding for student-athlete scholarships with the launch of the Competitive Drive Initiative. The initiative met its initial fundraising goal of $2.5 million in less than six weeks and has extended its target to $3.5 million raised by Dec. 31. Any new gift to the A-T Fund’s Athletic Scholarship Fund made through Dec. 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Georgia Tech Foundation, meaning that if the $3.5 million fundraising goal is met, the matching gift would result in a $7 million impact for Georgia Tech athletics.
