Georgia Tech’s Christian Matthews to Transfer

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech freshman guard/forward Christian Matthews has asked for and been granted a release from his scholarship and will transfer, head coach Josh Pastner announced Thursday.

“Christian was an integral part of our depth for a good portion of last season, but we support his decision and want him to do what is best for him and his future,” said Pastner.

The 6-7 freshman from Clinton, Md., played in 15 games in 2016-17, averaging 3.4 points and 7.3 minutes per game. He attended National Christian Academy in Washington, D.C.
