THE FLATS – Andy Ogletree comes back from a five-month rehab on his hip and captures his first professional title … Drew Czuchry advances to second stage of Korn Ferry qualifying … Cameron Tringale and Matt Kuchar open 2021-22 PGA Tour season with solid finishes … More details below in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.

TRINGALE AND KUCHAR POST SOLID FINISHES IN NAPA OPENER
Cameron Tringale and Matt Kuchar put together solid weekends at the PGA Tour’s 2021-22 opener, tying for 22nd and 36th, respectively, at the Fortinet Championship in Napa, Calif.
Tringale opened strong with a 66, his lowest in 32 career rounds in this event, and finished with a 69, posting a 10-under-par score of 278. Kuchar’s 7-under 281 included a second-round 66. Vincent Whaley, Seth Reeves and Chesson Hadley all missed the cut.
Stewart Cink, who won the event last October when it was known at the Safeway Open, launching a stellar season which saw him qualify for the Tour Championship for the first time since 2009, did not defend his title to be at his son Connor’s wedding.
The Tour is off this week while the Ryder Cup takes place in Kohler, Wis.

OGLETREE WINS GPRO EVENT IN FIRST ACTION SINCE INJURY
Andy Ogletree, the 2019 U.S. Amateur champion who had been out of action since April after having surgery to repair a labrum tear in his hip, captured his first professional title in his first competition since his return, scoring a one-shot victory at the Gaston Championship in Gastonia, N.C.
Ogletree opened with rounds of 65-63 and secured the win with a closing 69, and earned a $15,000 paycheck.
He was the low amateur (T34 overall) at the COVID-delayed 2020 Masters and tied for 46th at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in the spring. Ogletree missed the cut in three subsequent PGA Tour events before stepping away to treat his hip.
The Little Rock, Miss., native will get another shot at a PGA Tor event next week in his home state, having received a sponsor’s exemption to play in the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Miss.
Congratulations @andy_ogletree !!

CZUCHRY ADVANCES TO SECOND STAGE OF KORN FERRY QUALIFYING
Drew Czuchry made it through the first stage of qualifying for the Korn Ferry Tour, tying for 15th place last week at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga., one of two first-stage qualifiers held last week.
The 2015 graduate shot 6-under-par 282, including a closing 66 to finish among the top 21 and ties to advance. Second-stage qualifiers take place in mid-October.
Before that, there are 11 more first-stage qualifying events to be held, five of those this week.
