THE FLATS – Cameron Tringale turns in another standout performance, but earns some unwanted recognition in the process … Vincent Whaley continues to play solid golf … Anders Albertson, Paul Haley II and J.T. Griffin play the weekend in Huntsville … Lots of media appearances for #ProJackets in the past week … More below in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.

TRINGALE POSTS ANOTHER EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE
Cameron Tringale earned his second top-10 finish (3rd/2013) in nine starts at the Valspar Championship, finishing in a tie for third place last weekend in Palm Harbor, Fla., with a 13-under-par score of 271 (69-67-67-68). In posting his fourth top-10 finish of the 2020-21 season, Tringale held his position at 34th place in FedEx Cup points. On track to have his best FedEx Cup finish since 2014, Tringale has made 11 cuts in his last 13 tournaments, missing only at the Players Championship and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a two-man team event.
Tringale also earned a somewhat undesirable distinction in his 299th career start. They are the most on TOUR, most on TOUR without a win since 2009, and with more than $13.7 million in career earnings, became the player with the most earnings without a victory in PGA Tour history.
Dubious. Nice word choice. Check in with the thousands of people who’ve tried to make a living playing golf and couldn’t and see if they’d call it a “dubious distinction” to have had Cameron’s career so far. https://t.co/Crqq3svCII

Meanwhile, Vincent Whaley enjoyed another solid performance by tying for 29th place at 4-under-par 280, moving up to No. 137 in FedEx Cup points. Like Tringale, he played consistently all weekend, turning in scored of 69-71-70-70, and continues to get starts in higher-demand events.
This week, two-time winner Stewart Cink is back in action after a two-week break along with Hadley, a North Carolina native, Tringale, Werenski and Whaley at the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, N.C.

KORN FERRY TOUR
Three of six Yellow Jackets played the weekend at the Huntsville Championship, led by Anders Albertson’s tie for 21st place (274, -6), while Paul Haley II tied for 37th place (277, -3) and J.T. Griffin tied for 48th (279. -1).
Haley held his position at No. 27 in Korn Ferry Tour points, while Seth Reeves, who missed the cut along with Ollie Schniederjans and Nicholas Thompson, remains inside the top 25 at No. 23.

ROBERTO CASTRO LAUNCHES PODCAST
Four-time Georgia Tech All-American Roberto Castro, who has been active on the PGA Tour since 2012, has found time to dabble in many other pursuits along his professional golf journey, from food and fashion to collecting vinyl records and marketing and branding.
He has done this on various platforms, writing blogs, his social media accounts, and now a new podcast called Course Records. On this pursuit, he has partnered with Dan Ferreira, a digital marketing analytics professional at Google, and the podcast focuses on the business of golf. Both were Industrial Engineering students at Georgia Tech. The first three episodes featured PGA Tour veteran Joe Ogilvie, Callaway and Taylor Made marketing executive Harry Arnett and former LPGA star Jane Geddes.
