ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball team celebrated its 2010-11 season with its end-of-season banquet Wednesday night at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center.
Head Coach MaChelle Joseph and her staff presented the team with various awards throughout the night and honored numerous individuals that have made an impact off the court this season.
Those in attendance were also treated to a special highlight video created by video coordinator Sam Purcell.
The Yellow Jackets are once again coming off an exceptional season. Tech topped the 20-win plateau for the fourth straight season and reached its fourth straight NCAA Tournament. The Jackets 23 wins are the most wins by a Tech women’s basketball team since joining the ACC prior to the 1979-80 season.

Most Improved Player – Selected by Coaches

Rebound Award – Highest Total of Offensive and Defensive Rebounds
Brigitte Ardossi – 95 offensive / 147 defensive / 242 total / 7.3 avg
Offensive Player of the Year – Averaged the most points
Brigitte Ardossi – 16.1 points / 532 points total
Assist Leader – Most total number of Assists on the Year
Deja Foster – 108 assists
Defensive Player of the Year – Selected by Coaches
Brigitte Ardossi – 65 steals / 14 blocks / 147 defensive rebounds
Cheryl Lowry Award for Service
Dr. Linnette Sells presented by Cheryl Lowry
This award is given to a member of the Women’s Basketball program that has gone above and beyond the call of duty this season. We appreciate all the effort you have put into making this season successful!
Kentrina Wilson Perseverance and Courage Award
Alex Montgomery
This award is given to the member of the Women’s Basketball program that exhibits courage during a time of adversity and preservers through hardship.
Alex Stewart Loyalty Award
Tiffany Blackmon presented by Alex Stewart
This award is given to the Women’s Basketball player that is most loyal to her teammates and coaching staff both on and off the court. This person is also very coachable and is an extension of the coaching staff in every situation.
MaChelle Joseph Hardest Worker Award
Danielle Hamilton-Carter presented by Head Coach MaChelle Joseph
This award goes to the Women’s Basketball player who has commendable work ethic and goes the extra mile in achieving team goals.
