THE FLATS – After opening Atlantic Coast Conference play going 2-0, including a win over a ranked opponent, Georgia Tech women’s tennis broke into the top 25 of the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released on Tuesday. Georgia Tech came in at No. 19.

The Yellow Jackets opened ACC play this past weekend with wins at then-No. 17 Notre Dame and Louisville, pushing their record to 7-2 overall on the young season. Tech captured the doubles point in both matches and used strong singles play to open ACC action undefeated.

Tech boasts three players in the singles rankings released on Feb. 21. No. 14 Carol Lee has led the Yellow Jackets from the top singles position all season, boasting a perfect 7-0 ledger in dual matches. Lee collected her first ACC win of the season in style, upending No. 81 Page Freeman of Notre Dame in three sets after erasing a 5-1 deficit in the third set.

Bilchev clinched Tech’s win at Notre Dame with a three-set win over Julia Andreach. Joining Lee and Bilchev in the national rankings is Mahak Jain who ranks No. 108. At 16-6 overall this season, Jain is 9-4 in dual match play.
