Women's Basketball Season Tickets on Sale Now

Oct. 13, 2006

Atlanta – With Georgia Tech’s 2006-07 women’s basketball season just around corner, the Yellow Jackets announce the sale of season tickets for all home games, played at the Alexander Memorial Coliseum. Tech will host 18 teams, including in-state rival Georgia, as well as ACC powerhouse North Carolina and the 2006 National Champion Maryland Terrapins.

“This will be only the second time in the last 18 years that we’ve played the Bulldogs on our home court, and it has become a competitive rivalry lately,” said head coach MaChelle Joseph about hosting Georgia. “We hope to have a loud crowd at AMC to support us as we take on the Bulldogs.” The Jackets will also host the Atlanta Marriott Holiday Invitational, Dec. 29-30, where they will take on Mississippi State.

Adults may purchase season tickets for $30, while children 18 and under, and senior citizens 55 and older season tickets are only $15. Single game tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children and senior citizens. With promotions and special events at select match-ups, Tech home games offer affordable fun for fans of all ages.

Georgia Tech is looking forward to a great season, returning nine letterwinners, including four starters and three of the top players in the ACC. Junior Janie Mitchell is one of the top five rebounders in the league, while senior Stephanie Higgs and Chioma Nnamaka rank in the top ten in the conference in scoring. The Yellow Jackets also welcome a talented class of freshman who possess size, skill and determination.

“We’re really excited about this season,” said Joseph. “We hope that Georgia Tech friends and family will take advantage of these great deals, and see some great college basketball teams compete at the highest level, right here in Atlanta.”

Season tickets for Georgia Tech women’s basketball can be purchased on line at www.ramblinwreck.com or by calling the ticket office at 404-894-5447.
