GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech indoor track and field’s Jeanine Williams was named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Track Co-Performer of the Week after her chart-topping performance at the Commodore Invitational last weekend, the league announced on Tuesday.
Williams paced the field of 60m high hurdlers at the meet, taking first place in the finals with a stunning time of 8.18. The performance currently ranks as the third-fastest time in the country this season and tops the list of times in the ACC. The junior reached the finals with a first-place 8.27 time in the prelims.
Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Williams also turned in a second-place time in the 60m dash, breaking out to a time of 7.48. She qualified for the finals with a prelim time of 7.55, which was also good for second place.
The Yellow Jackets return to Nashville, Tenn., next weekend when they compete in the Vanderbilt Invitational. The meet begins on Friday, Jan. 19 and concludes Saturday, Jan. 20.
