Williams Earns Second-Straight ACC Weekly Honor

Jan. 23, 2018

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second-straight week,Georgia Tech indoor track and field’s Jeanine Williams was tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Track Co-Performer of the Week after her impressive outing at the Clemson Invitational on Jan. 19-20, the league announced on Tuesday.

Just one week after her career-best outing at Vanderbilt, Williams outdid her personal record again in the 60m high hurdles, taking second place in the finals with an impressive time of 8.02. The performance currently ranks tied for the sixth fastest time in the world and the third-fastest time in the nation. The junior also topped the ACC’s charts, only being bested by two one-hundredths of a second by an SEC runner who ran the world’s fourth-fastest time.

Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Williams’ time makes her the only Jamaican in the world in the top-40 – registering two times overall in the top 50.

The Yellow Jackets return to Clemson, S.C., on Jan. 26-27 when they compete in the Bob Pollock Invitational.
