White vs. Gold World Series Schedule Announced

2016 White vs. Gold World Series Rosters

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech baseball team will conclude its 2016 fall practice season with its annual White vs. Gold World Series next week, with games set to take place on Oct. 30, Nov. 2 and Nov. 4. Admission is free to all three intrasquad contests at Russ Chandler Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets will once again play a three-game series with the first game set for Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. ET. Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. ET, while Game 3 is slated for Friday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m. ET.

The pitching match-ups for the series will be RHP Xzavion Curry vs. LHP Connor Thomas in Game 1 on Sunday, LHP Ben Parr vs. RHP Zac Ryan in Game 2 on Wednesday and LHP Jay Shadday vs. RHP Keyton Gibson in the finale on Friday.

Head coach Danny Hall, who is entering his 24th season as the Yellow Jackets’ skipper, returns 25 players from last year’s team, highlighted by 2016 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-Americans and 2016 ACC All-Freshman Team honorees Joey Bart and Tristin English, as well as 2016 All-ACC First Team selection Kel Johnson.

The 2017 squad also includes a freshman class that has been ranked as high as No. 18 in the nation by Perfect Game, No. 26 by Baseball America, No. 29 by D1Baseball and No. 36 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
