What’s The Buzz: How do you feel your prior year’s results on the golf course went?

Ben Smith: Had a couple decent finishes in the final stretch but had a disappointing national championship. It was a great learning experience for what’s to come for this year.

WTB: What are you looking forward to in the upcoming season?

BS: What we are capable of. With talented new additions and returners who have improved I am excited to see what we can achieve.

WTB: What is your fondest memory from golf?

BS: I had the opportunity to meet Jack Nicklaus when I won my state amateur in 2019.

WTB: Who has had the biggest impact on your golf journey?

BS: I’ve had so many supporters along the way it would be impossible to say just one.

WTB: Other than golf, what sport do you enjoy the most?

BS: Basketball. I wish I still played but we have had injuries on the team in the past related to some pickup games so we tend to stay away now.

WTB: What has been your favorite class while at Georgia Tech?

BS: GT 1000. Easiest A I ever got.

WTB: Do you have any superstitions or rituals you go through before competing?

BS: Not a superstition but I never use the same ball mark two rounds in a row.

WTB: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

BS: Steak. Can’t go wrong.

WTB: What is one cause you are passionate about?

BS: I hate to say this but I don’t really have one. Golf and school are the only two things I spend my time and effort on.

WTB: Who is your favorite athlete of all-time?

BS: Tiger. No one has ever dominated a sport quite like him.
