THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech volleyball team hosts the Georgia Tech Courtyard Classic this weekend when it welcomes St. John’s, Troy and Connecticut to O’Keefe Gym for the two-day tournament set to begin Friday at 4:30 p.m. with Troy vs. Connecticut. The Yellow Jackets take on St. John’s in the 7 p.m. match Friday.

All the matches will be available on GameTracker and matches against Georgia Tech will also be available on All-Access via www.RamblinWreck.com. Fans can listen to the Tech games on WREK 91.1 FM in Atlanta. Veteran Kurt Hoyt will handle the play-by-play duties.

Parking Information
All fans attending the 4:30 p.m. match on Friday should park in the McCamish Lot and walk to the front entrance of O’Keefe Gym. The O’Keefe and McCamish lots will be open for the 7 p.m. match Friday and all four matches Saturday.
Ticket Information
Tickets are $4 for adults, $2 for youths (18 and under) and seniors (55 and older), and $1 per person for groups of 10 or more. Fans can purchase a $4 ticket for the first two matches Saturday, hang on to the ticket and re-enter O’Keefe on a one-time basis for a later match with the same ticket.
Georgia Tech
The Georgia Tech volleyball team returns home this weekend when it welcomes Troy, St. John’s and Connecticut to O’Keefe Gym for the Georgia Tech Courtyard Classic.
The Jackets are coming off a 1-2 weekend at the Sheraton Airport Lobo Classic in Albuquerque, N.M.
Senior outside hitter Jennifer Percy leads the squad with 58 kills and is averaging a team-best 2.90 kills per set. Senior middle blocker Quinn Evans leads the team with 23 blocks and two solo stuffs for a 1.39 blocks per set average – third in the ACC. Senior setter Kaleigh Colson leads the league with a 0.53 service aces per set.
Scouting St. John’s
St. John’s is 5-3 on the season, after picking up a mid-week sweep against Stony Brook. Karin Palgutova is the Red Storm’s go-to on offense with 116 kills on 274 attempts for a .303 hitting percentage. The back row is firmly held down by Shawna-Lei Santos with 120 digs and a 4.44 digs per set mark.
Scouting Troy
The Trojans are 3-4 on the season and posted a 1-2 mark at Auburn’s Active Ankle Challenge over the weekend with losses to Green Bay and Auburn, and a victory against Mercer in five sets. The Troy offense is fairly spread out amongst Kiah Cheatham (55 kills), Kayla Pickart (64) and Marija Zelenovic (97). At the net, the Trojans have a solid tandem, as Zelenovic owns six solo blocks and Cheatham adds 26 block assists.
Scouting Connecticut
UConn (3-4) went 1-2 at the UConn classic over the weekend, defeating Albany and falling to Pitt and Northeastern. Karson Ratliff leads the offense with 71 kills and 2.63 kills/set. Expect Brianna Datti to anchor the back row with 4.00 digs/set, and Erika Thomas and Immanuella Anagu to be blocking forces at the net with 24 and 23 total blocks, respectively, on the season.
