Georgia Tech women's basketball head coach meets with media during preseason at McCamish Pavilion
Georgia Tech women’s basketball head coach Nell Fortner met with media on Monday in McCamish Pavilion following a week of preseason practice. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a successful 2020-21 season, culminating in a NCAA Tournament run to the Sweet 16. Tech finished the season at 17-9 overall and 12-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
The Yellow Jackets return 10 letterwinners, including its starting five lineup, from the 2020-21 season. Tech returns its top three leading scorers who averaged in double-figures last season in Lotta-Maj Lahtinen (15.0 points per game), Kierra Fletcher (13.0 ppg) and Lorela Cubaj (12.5 ppg). Cubaj averaged a double-double last season, leading the ACC in rebounding with an 11.5 rebounds per game average.
Georgia Tech’s schedule is highlighted by a visit from UConn on Thursday, Dec. 9, and nine home matchups against Atlantic Coast Conference teams.
