THE FLATS – Andres Martin and Marcus McDaniel are set to represent Georgia Tech men’s tennis at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Tech will begin competition on Monday, Oct. 3 with the singles qualifying round.
In the ITA Preseason Rankings, Martin ranked at No. 20 and McDaniel ranked at No. 97. As a doubles pairing, the two Jackets earned an impressive ranking of No. 17.
McDaniel will fight for his singles spot in the qualifying round on Monday. In his first match, he will face Rice University’s Haoyuan Huang at 11 a.m. After earning a spot in the top 20 of the ITA preseason rankings, Martin will avoid the qualifying round and begin with the main draw singles on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
The nationally ranked duo will also compete in the main draw doubles. The two will start doubles play on Wednesday and the details of their matchup will be announced following the conclusion of the qualifying round.
