THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track and field team is set to compete at the ACC Indoor Championships Thursday hosted by Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. The three-day meet will take place in Rector Field House.
Live streaming coverage of the three-day event will be available on theACC.com on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 12 p.m.
Virginia Tech will be hosting the Championship for the ninth time. Host institutions have won the men’s championship eight times. North Carolina is the only women’s team to win the league title on its campus, having done so in 2003.
Action begins Thursday with the men’s and women’s multi-events and Friday focuses on preliminary rounds, the finals of the 5,000 meters and the finals of the high jump, weight throw, long jump and women’s pole vault. Saturday begins at 11 a.m. and wraps up with the awards ceremony at 4 p.m.
The team’s most recent competition was Feb. 8-10 at the Samford Invite, where the team recorded five first-place finishes, including a new school record.
